Alejandro Grimaldo will not be joining Barcelona, as the 30-year-old Spanish left-back has opted to move to Beşiktaş instead. Reports from Diario AS confirm that Grimaldo has reached an agreement with the Turkish club after growing frustrated with the lack of concrete offers from Barcelona.

Grimaldo’s decision was influenced by Beşiktaş’s more lucrative financial package. The transfer is expected to cost Beşiktaş approximately €15 million, with the player having already indicated his approval for the move. Only minor details remain to be finalized before the transfer is complete.

This season, Grimaldo has made 41 appearances for Bayer Leverkusen, scoring 14 goals and providing 11 assists. His current contract with the German club extends until the summer of 2027, and Transfermarkt values him at €24 million.
