A major managerial shake-up is underway in Italian football as Atalanta prepares for a significant change in leadership. According to insider Fabrizio Romano, the club is on the verge of appointing Maurizio Sarri as its new head coach.

Current coach Raffaele Palladino is expected to depart from his role in the near future, with negotiations between Atalanta’s management and the 67-year-old Sarri progressing to the final stages. Reports suggest that both parties are close to reaching a verbal agreement regarding the key terms of the contract.

The deal appears to hinge on final legal details, including the completion of formalities and the termination of Sarri’s existing obligations with Lazio, where he has been since June 2025.
