Napoli’s Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku is poised to return to team training following a significant fallout with the club’s management.
According to journalist and insider Nicolò Schira on his X social media page, the 32-year-old striker is expected at Napoli’s training center today. This comes after a serious dispute arose when Lukaku traveled to Belgium without notifying the coaching staff, which led to coach Antonio Conte discovering his absence only when the player failed to appear for practice.
Despite the earlier tensions, Conte has reportedly forgiven Lukaku and granted him permission to rejoin training. However, Lukaku’s long-term future at Naples appears uncertain, with indications suggesting that he will depart the club at the end of the season.
Throughout the current season, Lukaku has played in just 7 matches for Napoli, scoring a single goal. His contract with the club extends until the summer of 2027, and his market value is estimated at 12 million euros by Transfermarkt.
