Manchester United is reportedly close to appointing Michael Carrick as the club’s new head coach. According to BBC Sport, an agreement has already been reached between both parties, with the final paperwork now being processed.
The official announcement is anticipated within the next 48 hours, as the club aims to finalize the details ahead of their home match against Nottingham Forest. This match will mark United’s final game at Old Trafford this season.
The 44-year-old Carrick is expected to sign a two-year contract, which will include an option for an additional year.
Previously, Carrick took the reins on an interim basis following the departure of Ruben Amorim in January, significantly impacting the team’s performance. Under his guidance, the Red Devils have made substantial progress and secured a spot in the Champions League for the upcoming season.
