Bayern Munich is open to offers for Alphonso Davies, with Manchester United showing interest.
The Canadian player has had difficulty regaining his form following a long injury absence, making a transfer possible.
This news comes just a year after Davies signed a new contract with Bayern. Initially, he was expected to join Real Madrid as a free agent but chose to stay with Bayern instead.
Now, a summer transfer could be on the table. Bayern insider Christian Falk has mentioned that Manchester United is keeping an eye on the situation. The club is looking for a left-back to compete with Luke Shaw.
“Manchester United has an interest in Alphonso Davies. They were involved in discussions when it was uncertain if he would renew his contract,” Falk said.
“They continue to monitor him, but he has recently signed a new contract, so it may be hard to acquire him now.
“There are also conversations within the club about needing a backup player, considering Davies’ recurring injuries. Initially, they felt secure with Hiroki Itō available for that position.
“If an offer is presented (keeping in mind the significant cost for Bayern to extend Davies), it would be discussed. Currently, there has not been a specific offer from Manchester United, but if one comes, Bayern may consider it due to the ongoing injury concerns.”
