Manchester United is reportedly in pursuit of Danish midfielder Morten Hjulmand, who has been on their radar for some time. Sources indicate that the deal for the 26-year-old defensive midfielder could be finalized as early as this summer.
According to CaughtOffside, Sporting Lisbon has informed Manchester United that they are open to receiving offers for Hjulmand. The Red Devils had previously attempted to sign him last summer, looking for a potential replacement for the departing Casemiro; however, their efforts were met with a firm refusal from the Lisbon club.
In addition to Manchester United, Premier League rivals Arsenal have also been monitoring Hjulmand closely, as they seek to bolster their midfield options ahead of the upcoming season.
This season, Hjulmand has made 43 appearances for Sporting, scoring 2 goals and providing 6 assists. He is contracted with the club until 2028, and Transfermarkt estimates his market value at €45 million.
