ലണ്ടൻ: ചെൽസിയുടെ പരിശീലകനായി ചുമതലയേൽക്കുന്ന സാബി അലോൺസോയ്ക്ക് സ്റ്റാംഫോർഡ് ബ്രിഡ്ജിൽ കൂടുതൽ അധികാരം നൽകണമെന്ന് മുൻ താരം ജോ കോൾ. ക്ലബ്ബിലെ ഫുട്ബോൾ തീരുമാനങ്ങളിൽ അലോൺസോയ്ക്ക് പൂർണ്ണ നിയന്ത്രണം ഉണ്ടായാൽ മാത്രമേ അടുത്ത സീസണിൽ മികച്ച ഫലം പുറത്തെടുക്കാൻ സാധിക്കൂ എന്ന് അദ്ദേഹം അഭിപ്രായപ്പെട്ടു.
Joe Cole has called for Xabi Alonso to be given a more hands-on role at Chelsea, insisting the Spaniard must be allowed real authority to succeed at Stamford Bridge.
Cole believes Chelsea’s manager coach needs full control of key football decisions if he is to make an immediate impact next season.
“I think it’s a great appointment. I didn’t think Xabi would take it because I thought he would have a better opportunity.
“So that tells me that he’s clearly had a discussion with the club, and negotiations, and he has to be in control. I like the fact they’ve changed his name to manager, but I want to see that in real time: what does that actually mean? Because it needs a manager of the club; it needs a strong manager.
“Look back at what Jurgen Klopp did at Liverpool, look at what Michel Arteta’s done with Arsenal, look at what Pep Guardiola did at Manchester City.
“Yes, there were support teams around them, but they were in charge, and if Chelsea and the owners can do that, then they’ve got a chance of success,” Cole has stated.
