However, when it comes to the youngest players set to play in the competition, that is only held by a few individuals.
It’s actually Mexico midfielder Gilberto Mora who holds the feat for the youngest player to feature at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, at the age of 17 years and 240 days.
He’s referred by many fans as the ‘Mexican Pedri’ because of his playing style being similar to that of the Barcelona midfielder.
Right behind him is Czechia man Hugo Schurke (18 years, 4 days) and Senegal forward Ibrahim Mbaye (18 years, 138 days) – who plays for Paris Saint-Germain.
Barcelona’s young forward Hamza Abdelkarim is also among the youngest players set to play at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
