The Dutch national football team has reached a significant milestone at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, securing a dominant 5-1 victory over Sweden in the group stage. This win has established the Netherlands as a formidable contender on the world stage.

With this achievement, the Oranje have now completed 14 consecutive matches without defeat in World Cup history, setting a new tournament record. This milestone surpasses the previous record held by Brazil during the Pelé era, between 1958 and 1966. The Netherlands becomes the first national team to achieve such a streak.

The Dutch team’s last defeat in the World Cup came during the final match in South Africa in 2010, where they lost to Spain in extra time. Since that loss, the Netherlands has maintained an unbeaten record in football’s premier tournament.
