Nigeria has been officially designated as the host nation for the 2026 CAF Awards, as well as the 48th CAF Ordinary General Assembly. This announcement was made by President Bola Tinubu.
The declaration took place during a meeting with Patrice Motsepe at the ongoing Africa Forward Summit in Nairobi. The summit has gathered several prominent football and government officials.
Attendees at the meeting included Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, the President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Ibrahim Musa Gusau, CAF President’s Special Adviser Amaju Pinnick, and CAF Acting General Secretary Samson Adamu.
