In a troubling development ahead of England’s national team arrival in Kansas City, a shooting incident has injured nine individuals, raising alarms among organizers of the upcoming 2026 World Cup. The incident occurred early in the morning on Troost Avenue, near the team’s designated training base.

Local police reported that the shooting happened around 4 a.m., prompting officers to respond to the scene where they encountered a large crowd dispersing. Initially, three women were transported to the hospital, but further updates indicated that a total of nine adults needed medical attention. Fortunately, all injuries reported are non-life-threatening.

As of now, no suspects have been apprehended, and the police are actively investigating the incident. In response to the shooting, law enforcement has increased patrols in the area, which lies approximately six kilometers from the training center and hotel designated for the England squad during the World Cup group stage.
