The Europa League clash between Nottingham Forest and Porto began with a dramatic turn that could impact both teams significantly.

Details: Just seven minutes in, Porto defender Jan Bednarek received a red card after committing a brutal foul that left Forest’s key striker Chris Wood injured.

The incident was alarming: in a fierce battle for possession, Bednarek struck Wood’s knee with a straight-legged challenge. Following a VAR review, the referee promptly issued a straight red card to the Polish defender.

However, this was little solace for Nottingham, as Chris Wood had to leave the field. Footage showed severe lacerations and stud marks on his knee as he exited with medical assistance. Brazilian forward Igor Jesus came on to take his place.
