The Benin Football Federation has announced the suspension of international player Olivier Verdon from all national team activities due to breaches of discipline. This decision follows a thorough review of disciplinary proceedings involving the player, where both allegations and his defense were considered.
Following an investigation, the federation identified multiple violations regarding adherence to coaching staff instructions, internal squad operations, and the obligations expected of all Beninese international players. As a result, a six-month fixed suspension has been imposed.
In an official statement, the federation clarified, “After reviewing all the evidence in the case, it was decided to impose on Mr. Olivier Verdon a six (06)-month fixed suspension from Benin’s national teams, accompanied by an additional six (06)-month suspended suspension.”
During the duration of the fixed suspension, Verdon is prohibited from being called up or participating in any activities related to Benin’s national teams.
