In a recent interview, Ousmane Dembélé, the reigning Ballon d’Or holder, expressed confidence in Argentina’s chances of repeating their success from the last World Cup during the upcoming 2026 tournament. The 29-year-old player highlighted that Argentina remains a formidable force as long as Lionel Messi is part of the team.

Dembélé noted that Messi, at the age of 38, continues to showcase remarkable talent on the field, making him a crucial asset for Argentina. “Lionel Messi is the best footballer I have ever seen,” Dembélé stated. “Even at 38, he is still incredibly hard to stop. He is capable of winning the World Cup again.”

Argentina will compete in Group J of the World Cup, facing opponents Algeria, Austria, and Jordan.
