Percy Tau has departed from Vietnamese club Nam Dinh FC, following his compatriot Njabulo Blom, who was announced as one of the club’s departing players earlier this week. This marks a significant shift for both athletes, as their tenures at the club have not met expectations.

Tau’s career has encountered considerable challenges since he left Egyptian giants Al-Ahly three seasons ago. His move from English side West Bromwich Albion to Al-Ahly five years ago is widely regarded as a turning point that adversely affected his football trajectory. This decline in form has also led to his exclusion from the national team, distancing him from selection for next year’s World Cup, where he was once a staple in Hugo Broos’ lineup.

Blom faces similar difficulties. The former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder has lost the dynamic edge that previously marked him as a promising talent, making his exit from Nam Dinh unsurprising.

With both players now free agents, it remains to be seen whether they will attract interest from potential suitors in the football market.
