Rangers are reportedly in advanced negotiations to secure the services of highly-rated Nigerian defender Akpe Victory from Hungarian club Zalaegerszegi. The Scottish side is keen to finalize the deal amid strong competition for the young player’s signature.
Interest in the 19-year-old centre-back is particularly intense from Portuguese powerhouse Benfica, who have also made an official approach to acquire him. This adds to the competitive landscape for Victory, as several clubs across Germany, Spain, and France are monitoring his progress.
Transfer expert Ben Jacobs noted that Victory, who has made 15 appearances this season and scored once, is among the most sought-after young prospects in Europe at present.
