Real Madrid has officially decided to cease their pursuit of Manchester City midfielder Rodri, according to insights from journalist Fabrizio Romano on social media platform X.
Reports suggest that the decision comes amid challenging negotiations with Manchester City and the potential arrival of Bernardo Silva. As a result, Real Madrid has abandoned their interest in Rodri, who was previously identified by club president Florentino Pérez as a key target for the summer transfer window.
This season, the 29-year-old midfielder has made only 33 appearances for Manchester City due to recurrent injuries. Rodri’s contract with the club is valid until the summer of 2027, and his market value is estimated by Transfermarkt at approximately €50 million.
