Punishment has been handed down to Spanish striker Rafa Mir.

The Valencia court has issued a final verdict in a case involving the 29-year-old Elche player. According to DiarioAS, the court sentenced Mir to a total of 8.5 years in prison—7 years for sexual assault and 1.5 years for causing serious bodily injuries.

Additionally, Rafa Mir will be required to pay his victim financial compensation amounting to 64,000 euros. The court considered all aspects of the crime, which took place in September 2024 at the Torre-en-Conil residential complex in Bétera, Valencia, as reported by the Superior Court of the Valencian Community.

Currently a Sevilla player, Rafa Mir joined the club from Wolverhampton in 2021 for 16 million euros. Last season, he played on loan at Elche, making 29 appearances and scoring 8 goals.
