Villarreal CF has officially announced that Dani Parejo, the 37-year-old central midfielder, will be leaving the club at the end of the current season. This decision comes after both Parejo and Villarreal agreed not to renew his contract, allowing him to depart as a free agent.

Since joining Villarreal in 2020 from Valencia for €2.25 million, Parejo has established himself as a key player, making 269 appearances, scoring 16 goals, and providing 36 assists. His contributions played a significant role in the team’s successes, including winning the Europa League and reaching the Champions League semi-finals during the 2021/22 season.

Parejo’s current market value is estimated at €1.2 million according to Transfermarkt. The news of his departure marks the end of a significant chapter for both the player and the club, underscoring Parejo’s loyalty and impact throughout his tenure.
