Former Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos has weighed in on the team’s recent performance, following their 0-2 loss to Barcelona in El Clásico. Kroos is not surprised by the outcome, noting that the team’s internal dynamics were unfavorable even before the match began.
Kroos highlighted the absence of character within the squad, suggesting that while the players may have been motivated to win, it wasn’t sufficient to secure a victory. He remarked,
“Real Madrid’s recent results are a consequence of poor internal dynamics. Maybe they were motivated to win El Clásico, but that simply wasn’t enough.
AdvertisementThe defeat was predetermined even before the match started. I think they would have gladly accepted this result before the game even kicked off.”
During his time at Real Madrid from 2014 to 2024, Toni Kroos made a significant impact, featuring in 465 matches and contributing 28 goals along with 99 assists. He announced his retirement in July 2024.
