England head coach Thomas Tuchel has made a formal appeal to FIFA, calling for an immediate review of the rules and positioning of media representatives ahead of matches.

Tuchel expressed his dissatisfaction with the organization of the photographers’ area during the national anthem prior to England’s match against Croatia. He noted that this special moment was nearly spoiled for him due to the obstructive positioning of the photographers.

“I beg FIFA to change the positioning of photographers during the national anthems. I simply couldn’t see my team. I had been looking forward to this moment, it was extremely special for me, but there was a literal wall of 50 photographers in front of me. In the end, I couldn’t see a single one of my players, and it somewhat spoiled the experience for me,” the England manager said passionately.

Attention now turns to FIFA officials as they consider Tuchel’s complaint and whether changes will be implemented to avoid such issues in future World Cup matches. The outcome of the match saw England secure a 4-2 victory.
