Azerbaijan’s Neftchi PFK has announced it will not be extending the contract of Cameroonian striker Vincent Aboubakar. Having joined the club in October 2025, Aboubakar’s contract is set to expire on 30 June, and the club has confirmed its decision to part ways.
Despite a commendable performance during his tenure, in which he scored nine goals and provided one assist in the Azerbaijan Premier League, the club has opted not to offer him a contract extension. His time at Neftchi PFK will conclude after just one season.
As a result, Aboubakar is now faced with the prospect of finding a new team ahead of the upcoming season. The Cameroonian international’s future in professional football appears to be in a different league following this decision.
