Vinicius Junior continues to generate headlines, this time for his provocative remarks directed at Espanyol’s Moroccan defender, Omar El Hilali. During the 34th round of La Liga, Spanish journalists reported on the exchange between the two players.
According to Cadenaser, Vinicius launched a verbal barrage at El Hilali, which included the insult “idiot.” The Brazilian player reportedly stated:
“You’ll ask me for my shirt on the street, but I won’t give it to you. Stop being foolish, you’re an idiot. Want to fight? If you want to play, let’s play. You’re going to get relegated to the Second Division,” the Brazilian told the Moroccan.

This incident adds to a pattern of behavior, as Vinicius has often found himself involved in similar controversies—provoking opponents and then expressing discontent when targeted in return.
Despite the controversy, Vinicius’s performance proved crucial in the match, as he scored both goals in Real Madrid‘s 2-0 victory over Espanyol.
