A shocking and tragic story has emerged from England regarding the circumstances surrounding the death of Matt Beard, a former head coach of women’s teams at Liverpool, Millwall, Chelsea, and West Ham.

According to reports from The Sun, Beard, who was 47 years old, may have taken his own life due to bullying and humiliation he allegedly experienced while working at Burnley. His family asserts that this mistreatment significantly impacted his mental health.

Beard resigned from his role as head coach of Burnley’s women’s team in August 2022. Tragically, he was found hanged just a month later, in September.

In light of the recent allegations, an investigation has been launched with Burnley now considered a suspect in connection to Beard’s death, with the scrutiny focused on whether the club’s actions contributed to his mental distress.

Previously, Beard had notable success in women’s football, leading Liverpool Women to back-to-back Women’s Super League titles in 2013 and 2014, and coaching at Millwall, Chelsea, and West Ham.
