Spain’s teenage sensation Lamine Yamal emerged as a key player in La Roja’s recent match against Saudi Arabia during the 2026 World Cup. The 18-year-old winger not only scored a crucial goal but also expressed deep emotional sentiments about the rapid transformation in his life over the past four years.

In a post-match interview, Yamal dedicated his goal to his mother, girlfriend, friends, and the fans in attendance, as well as the residents of his hometown, Rocafonda in Mataró. He reflected on his journey, acknowledging the incredible shift from being a typical teenager to a World Cup competitor.

“At the last World Cup, I was watching the matches on TV right in my school classroom during lessons. And now I’m here, and it’s just incredible. I’m really proud, as are my mother and my whole family,” Lamine shared.
