The Democratic Republic of Congo national team has commenced its final preparations for the 2026 World Cup, which is set to take place in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The Leopards have convened in Brussels, Belgium, for a training camp ahead of their participation in the tournament.
Under the guidance of coach Sébastien Desabre, the squad will engage in two international friendly matches against Denmark and Chile before the World Cup officially begins on June 11. This training phase aims to refine the team’s strategies and build cohesion ahead of their opening match.
Returning to the World Cup after a 52-year hiatus, the Democratic Republic of the Congo aims to compete fiercely in Group K, where they will face Portugal, Uzbekistan, and Colombia. The team is determined to make an impact and is not simply content to participate.
