Florent Ibenge will continue to lead the coaching staff at Azam FC, following his decision to reject an offer to manage the Mali national team.
The Congolese coach, who has been with the Tanzanian club since the summer of 2025, has now extended his contract for an additional two years. His new agreement is set to last until 2028.
This contract extension reflects the club’s confidence in Ibenge, as Azam FC currently ranks among the top teams in the Tanzanian Premier League after 25 matchdays. The board has chosen to rely on Ibenge to further develop their squad.
