Former world boxing champion Tyson Fury is reportedly in talks to acquire a football club, specifically Morecambe, alongside ex-Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimović. The news was first reported by The Sun, highlighting a potential new venture for the two sports icons.

The idea of purchasing the English club emerged following a meeting in Poland, where Fury and Ibrahimović were filming a promotional campaign related to the World Cup. During their discussions, they explored the prospect of not only acquiring Morecambe but also the future development of the project.

In addition to the acquisition, sources reveal that the duo aims to launch a Netflix documentary series tentatively titled “The Rise of Morecambe.” This project is expected to mirror the success of Wrexham’s story, which gained widespread attention after Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney took over the club.

The initiative holds personal significance for Fury, who resides in Morecambe and trains at the club’s stadium. He has prior experience with Netflix through the family project “At Home with the Furys.” Morecambe has faced challenges in recent years, including a decline to the National League North after a disappointing season, but it recently secured financial backing from a new ownership consortium.
