Habib Beye has equalled the historical record of Albert Emon following a challenging stint as Marseille’s head coach. Since his appointment several months ago, the Senegalese manager has faced a series of disappointing results.
The latest setback was a 3-0 defeat to Nantes during matchday 32 of Ligue 1, marking Beye’s fifth loss in his first ten matches in charge. This outcome places him on a troubling side of Marseille’s history in the league.
Beye’s performance indicates he is the first Marseille manager since 2002 to achieve such a negative record, mirroring Emon’s struggles from that year, when he also recorded five defeats in his initial ten matches as manager.
