Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos announced that the national team will face Jamaica in their final friendly match prior to the World Cup opening match against Mexico. This announcement follows a goalless draw against Nicaragua, which Broos deemed unsatisfactory for his side.

Broos emphasized that the upcoming game against Jamaica, scheduled for June 5, will serve as a significant test compared to the match against Nicaragua. He stated that the performance in this friendly would help shape his lineup for the World Cup opening match against El Tri on June 11 in Mexico City.

Following the match against Nicaragua at Orlando Stadium, Broos expressed frustration over his team’s inability to score. He criticized the visitors’ defensive approach, noting that they came to South Africa primarily to defend, making it difficult for his players to find scoring opportunities.

“Surely, I think we can be happy about the performance of the team even within today, but if you play against such a negative opponent than it becomes very difficult. Those people came here 90 minutes and defend, kicking the ball in front and then at the end injuries, one minute after the other so yeah it was all very negative and for us very difficult,” Broos remarked.
