Liam Rosenior has identified his first target for Chelsea, a player previously pursued by Manchester United.

Chelsea is entering a new phase with Liam Rosenior as their manager, succeeding Enzo Maresca.

As part of his new role, Rosenior aims to reshape the Chelsea squad, initiating the process by seeking a player who was once a key target for Manchester United.

Liam Rosenior seeks to sign Kim Min-Jae from Bayern Munich

New Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior is reportedly urging the club to acquire Bayern Munich defender Kim Min-Jae, who was once on Manchester United’s radar.

Rosenior took over Chelsea in January and aims to strengthen the defense; Kim is seen as an excellent option for this role.

The South Korean center-back, who gained recognition at Napoli before moving to Bayern, has faced challenges in securing consistent playing time in Germany and could be acquired for around €30 million.

Rosenior believes that Kim still has the potential that made him a top choice among European clubs.

Kim Min-Jae was a target for Manchester United

Before his transfer to Bayern Munich, Kim Min-Jae was linked with a move to Manchester United, who viewed him as a valuable addition after his successful season at Napoli, contributing significantly to their Serie A title.

Chelsea now sees an opportunity to take advantage of his current situation. Rosenior thinks that with regular matches and a system tailored to his strengths — especially his calm demeanor and heading ability — Kim could return to the form that made him a desired player in the Premier League.

For Chelsea, acquiring Kim would not just signal their ambition; it could also be a smart move.

With Bayern open to discussions and Kim looking for a new beginning, a transfer to Stamford Bridge could be advantageous for both the player and the club.
