The Citizens are reportedly considering bringing in a prominent coach from Italy as they prepare for life after Pep Guardiola.

Recent insights from Alfredo Pedullà on social media platform X indicate that Manchester City‘s management is eyeing 67-year-old Maurizio Sarri, currently the head coach of Lazio, as a leading candidate to replace Guardiola.

In addition to his interest from England, Sarri has also garnered attention in Italy, with Napoli contemplating a return for him if Antonio Conte departs.

With Sarri’s contract at Lazio set to expire next summer, his potential return to English football appears increasingly likely. Guardiola’s current contract with Manchester City is valid until summer 2027. However, it seems that an extension is unlikely, as Guardiola himself has expressed a desire to take a break from football.
