FIFA has appointed a trio of referees from Qatar to officiate the upcoming Group K World Cup match. The match marks a significant milestone as it will be the Democratic Republic of Congo’s debut in the World Cup, set for 17 June at the tournament being hosted across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
The Leopards will take to the field for their first match on the world stage in 52 years. The officiating team will be led by referee Abdulrahman Al Jassim, who is scheduled to oversee the match at 5 pm GMT on Wednesday, 17 June. He will be assisted by Taleb Al Marri and Saoud Almaqaleh.
In Group K, the Democratic Republic of Congo is set to face Portugal on 17 June, followed by matches against Colombia on 24 June and Uzbekistan on 28 June.
