Real Madrid is preparing for the upcoming transfer market as the club looks to bolster its defensive lineup. New head coach José Mourinho has reportedly expressed a strong interest in acquiring Manchester City defender Joško Gvardiol.

Spanish journalist Alberto Pereiro has conveyed that Mourinho has informed club president Florentino Pérez of his desire to bring the 24-year-old Croatian national team player to the Galácticos. Pérez has reportedly agreed with Mourinho and committed to pursuing Gvardiol as a top target.

Meanwhile, Gvardiol has attracted attention from other clubs, particularly Barcelona, which has also shown significant interest in the defender. This season, Gvardiol has appeared in 25 matches for Manchester City, contributing 2 goals and 5 assists. However, frequent injuries have limited his involvement, potentially impacting his future at the club.
