Real Madrid has concluded the season without securing any trophies, prompting club president Florentino Pérez to address the underlying issues contributing to this disappointing outcome.

Pérez, in an interview with Josep Pedrerol, highlighted that the FIFA Club World Cup played a significant role in hampering the team’s preparations. He articulated that the tournament disrupted the squad’s pre-season, leaving players unable to achieve optimal physical fitness.

He stated, “This year, we at Real Madrid did not achieve the results we wanted, but in my opinion, the root of all these problems lies in the Club World Cup. We did not have a proper pre-season and were unable to restore our physical condition,” emphasizing his belief in the impact of the tournament on their performance.

In addition, Pérez addressed speculation regarding the potential appointment of José Mourinho as the new head coach for Los Blancos, as the club seeks to rebound from another trophy-less campaign.
