Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez has addressed the media regarding the club’s recent performances, emphasizing the significance of their achievements over the past season. In an interview with Josep Pedrerol, Pérez highlighted the victories in the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Intercontinental Cup, arguing that these accomplishments are often underestimated.

Pérez expressed frustration over the expectations placed on the club, stating, “We have started to underestimate what we have achieved. Last season we won the Club World Cup and the Super Cup. Does that count for nothing? Do we have to win La Liga and the Champions League every single time? Then perhaps the rest of Europe’s clubs should simply give up.”

In related news, Benfica’s management reportedly remains committed to retaining their head coach, José Mourinho, and has presented him with a new contract offer. This move indicates the club’s intention to keep Mourinho amid challenging circumstances.

It is worth noting that Real Madrid has faced another disappointing season, concluding without any silverware for the second consecutive year. Pérez’s press conference comes in response to the growing criticism surrounding the club’s performance.
