Swiss national team midfielder Johan Manzambi has made headlines at the World Cup by joining an elite group of players. He is now only the third player under the age of 21 this century to achieve four or more goal involvements at a single World Cup tournament.

According to Opta, Manzambi accomplished this feat by scoring three goals and providing one assist during the competition. His performance places him alongside notable names such as Kylian Mbappé, who recorded four goal involvements in the 2018 tournament, and Thomas Müller, who had eight in 2010.

Opta referred to Manzambi as a “diamond,” underscoring the significance of his achievements on the world stage. Furthermore, earlier in the tournament, Switzerland set a record for scoring just 39 seconds after halftime, marking the fastest second-half goal at a World Cup in the last 16 years.
