Tom Saintfiet has officially resigned as head coach of the Mali national football team, according to a statement from the Malian Football Federation. The Belgian manager, who took charge in August 2024, saw his tenure come to an end just months later. The announcement was made during the night between Tuesday and Wednesday.
Details surrounding the reasons for Saintfiet’s departure have not been disclosed by the Malian Football Federation. The governing body did, however, express its gratitude to him and extended best wishes for his future endeavors.
This announcement follows the recent establishment of a new executive committee within the Malian Football Federation, with Mahazou Baba Cisset taking on the role of president.
