In a surprising turn of events, Leo Messi’s earlier comments about Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) appear to have been proven incorrect. PSG has made significant strides under coach Enrique, marking a new chapter in the club’s pursuit of European glory.

After their recent victory against Bayern Munich in the first leg of the Champions League semi-finals, 26-year-old central midfielder Vitinha shared a light-hearted anecdote regarding Messi’s departure from the club. Vitinha recalled Messi’s pointed remarks about PSG’s chances of winning the coveted Champions League.

“When Messi was leaving PSG, he said: ‘You will never win the Champions League.’ And today, we are heading to the Champions League final for the second year in a row, unlike those humiliating round of 16 exits.”

Messi, who played for PSG from 2021 to 2023, made 75 appearances for the club, netting 32 goals and providing 35 assists. He departed PSG as a free agent in the summer of 2023, joining Inter Miami, without having managed to secure a Champions League title during his tenure in Paris.
