Leo Messi provided a typically humble reaction after achieving a major milestone in his illustrious career.
Following his hat-trick against Cincinnati in the 13th round of the MLS, the 38-year-old Argentine superstar was informed by a journalist that he had reached 910 career goals.
In his characteristic modest fashion, Messi responded:
“Honestly, I didn’t know. As I’ve always said, I’m not particularly concerned about records. What matters more to me is helping my team win. Today we secured three points, and that’s the most important thing.” – Messi said.
This season in MLS, Messi is producing impressive statistics, with 12 goals and 4 assists in 14 matches for Inter Miami. He currently sits second in the race for the MLS Golden Boot, just behind Chicago Fire striker Hugo Cuypers, who has scored 13 goals.
