Senegal’s national football team will face challenges as they prepare for the upcoming World Cup, scheduled to take place from June 11 to July 19 in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Due to visa issues, supporters from Dakar will not be able to make the trip to cheer for the Lions of Teranga.
Senegalese authorities have confirmed that, similar to supporters from Ivory Coast, fans attempting to obtain visas for the United States have been turned away. As a result, there will be no official delegation of supporters traveling to the tournament.
This setback follows the recent denial of entry to Somali referee Omar Abdulkadir Artan, who was also rejected when trying to enter the United States just days prior.
Senegal will kick off their World Cup campaign on June 16 against France in Group I. They will also compete against Norway on June 23 and Iraq on June 26 to complete the group stage.
